WE'RE NOT FANS OF COTTON.

In 2014, J.J. Symons was inspired to leave his London finance job to create something he couldn't find anywhere: versatile, durable, easy-to-care-for clothing that didn't sacrifice style. Cotton was the ubiquitous choice at most major retailers, but it was prone to wrinkles, moisture saturation and odors; plus, a wardrobe full of cotton requires a lot of washing and ironing—and a lot of shopping for extra clothes.

WE PREFER MERINO WOOL.

Merino wool, on the other hand, is a versatile, resilient material that effortlessly keeps pace with anything your lifestyle asks of it. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, J.J. appreciated the superior comfort and performance of merino activewear, so he turned to this technically advanced fabric to create a first-of-its-kind collection of smartly tailored merino wardrobe essentials—and he decided to call it Hardvark.

WE EXPECT MORE FROM OUR CLOTHING.

Hardvark's name is inspired by the resilient, mobile aardvark—a mammal whose protective skin allows it to thrive in a variety of environmental conditions. We think your clothes should function the same way: protecting you from the elements and helping you be your best, no matter what you're doing or where you're doing it.

AND WE THINK YOU SHOULD TOO.

At Hardvark, we believe value is measured in the number of smiles you get over the lifetime of a garment. It's a philosophy that ensures we use only the finest natural performance fabrics and the highest quality trims—and requires that we craft our garments in small batches, by hand. All of our clothing is designed for optimal versatility and resilience, so you can reach for it over and over again with the confidence that it will be around for years to come. We call this philosophy fewer, better clothes—and if you're anything like us, you'll find it leads to a freer, more fulfilling life.
